Soda oczyszczona i ocet w młynku do odpadów: do czego to służy i jak stosować

Putting bicarbonate of soda and white vinegar into the kitchen waste disposal helps to freshen up the inside of the appliance and remove food residues that build up in the chamber, on the grinding ring and under the cover. These residues produce unpleasant odours that running water does not completely remove.

How do bicarbonate of soda and vinegar work in a coffee grinder?

Baking soda helps to control odours. When vinegar is added to it, it creates a fizz which can help loosen residue from surfaces so that it can then be washed away during the rinse cycle. Food residues and grease can become trapped in areas that the running water cannot reach completely, particularly under the splash guard.

Step-by-step cleaning procedure

Before starting the grinder, it must be switched off completely and disconnected from the mains. If any object is visible inside, it must be removed using only pliers or long-handled tongs.

Cleaning procedure:

  1. Some people crush the ice with salt before starting the procedure to loosen any food debris.
  2. Pour the bicarbonate of soda into the grinder.
  3. Pour in the white vinegar.
  4. Wait until the fizzing starts.
  5. Rinse with clean water.

Why is this method recommended?

The recommendation to use this combination is mainly due to the build-up of food residues and the development of odours. Food particles and grease can become trapped in areas that are not fully cleaned by the running water. This method is simple and cost-effective, and requires only minimal safety precautions.

How to prevent further build-up of food residues

To prevent further build-up of waste, manufacturers also recommend using plenty of cold water before, during and after grinding food.
